Ottawa Doors Open at EBA, 7 & 8 June 2025
“Lotus Pond” is a monoprint 10 x 8 inches. It will be displayed along with more of my prints and those of my fellow EBA artists at the annual Ottawa Doors Open.
Enriched Bread Artists (EBA) is a not-for profit collective of Ottawa artists located in the former Standard Bread Company building.
In February 2020, the building and local landmark received heritage designation from the City of Ottawa. Designed by Sydney Comber, the commercial bakery was built in 1924 for founders Cecil Morrison and Dick Lamothe. It is a valuable example of an early 20th century industrial building.
In the early days bread was sold from the warehouse and delivered across the city and beyond by horse and wagon. I am proud to say that two of my uncles were delivery men in those days and they worked their way up to become managers over the years.
