“Flutter” painting finds a new home. Dec 2022
“Fluttter” is one of the paintings in the Suspension Series completed after my husband bought a new toy—an underwater camera. He donned his mask and snorkel and began to take underwater photos of the lily pads growing near the dock at our cottage in Val des Monts, Quebec. The results were mysterious and light-filled because he was aiming the camera towards the surface of the water. A fascinating phenomenon of reflection and/or refraction occurred, whereby the lily pads were distorted and seemed to be reflected from the underside of the water’s surface.
“Suspension Series, Flutter”, oil paint on canvas, 20 x 24 inches.
